EARTH TESTER
The Fluke 1625-2 earth ground tester measures earth ground loop resistances using only clamps, only stakes, or one clamp and stakes.
- Description
Description
Earth tester helps people to find earthing value. This shields the person working with the electrical equipment from current leakage via the gadget’s body. By keeping all of the power system’s equipment at earth potential; electrical charges from lightning or static electricity are sent to the ground. This protects the system from damage.
Working:
The PMMC instrument’s potential and current coils are coupled so that the voltage drop between electrodes E and P is applied across the potential coil. And current via the current coil is determined by the earth’s resistance.
When the generator is running at its rated speed; the pointer of the moving coil instrument moves, and the earth tester shows the resistance of the earth. The ratio of voltage across the potential coil and current through the current coil determines the pointer’s deflection.
